Before I Die

Before I crumble to ashes
Before I rot in the ground
Before I use up all my chances
Before I buy my last round,

Before I leave all my loved ones
Before my heart stills in my chest
Before I escape all my problems
Before I lay down to rest,

As I sit soft in my deathbed
As I watch one last sun set
As one last word sits on my tongue
I hope that one word isn’t yet:

I haven’t yet watched that one movie
I haven’t yet been to that place
I haven’t yet found life’s true meaning
I haven’t yet learned my own face.

I want to watch every movie
I want to visit every place
I want to discover life’s meaning
I want to discover my face,

I want to exhaust all my options
I want to give it all a try,
I want to live life to the fullest
Until then I don’t want to die.

Thanks for sharing this... exposing your thoughts through your unique poetic style. Meanwhile, I greet you with the love of the Lord, expressed by John 3:16 of the Bible, "For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life." Be blessed.
