Before

I didn't see the stars in your eyes
I didn't see the love you used to feel
I didn't see the passion that was there
What I saw made me cold.

I saw the distrust linger too long
I saw the hope fade to nothing
I saw the disgust too apparent
I didn't see anything.

I used to think you created the moons glow
I used to think you were the sun
I used to think the stars were yours
I don't think of those things no more

I used to love listening to your heartbeat
Knowing it belonged to me alone
I used to love hearing your voice
What I hear now is just the echo
