Bees Swarm Onto the Cake
Buzzing and swarming they fly in from the south.
They are plump with wings, stingers, I don’t see a mouth.
Bees buzzing to a flower, on top of a birthday cake.
I see them surround it, and my knees begin to shake.
Buzzing in my ear scares me in a really strange way
I am thinking of a mosquito that bit me hard yesterday
Don’t worry says my auntie, just stand by and give them their way
These bees surrounded the flower on my birthday cake today.
Just like she said, when they figured it out….
They flew off in a swarm, not giving a whistle or shout.
Go ahead and eat the cake, they left it intact.
With tiny sting marks it still tasted good, matter of fact.
