Been Deceived

Deep inside my mind,

Peace haunts my design.

Leaving it all behind,

To find a soul refined.

Intertwined with the whole,

Playing the hardest role.

It's taking its toll,

Strength is falling below,

The threshold I know.

What will it take to grow,

From this place of sorrow.

I only see my shadow,

Where is the glow,

The joy that I bestow.

I fall deeper still,

My heart is guiding my will.

Sadness the hill I face,

As I navigate through this place.

A race that don't believe,

A family won't receive,

The words I'm trying to leave.

Blinded by those who deceive,

Keeping you in your seat,

Every Sunday you repeat,

Leaving your world at their feet.
