Beelines From Felines

My brother has a mountain lion Prowling near his street, A cat that on a morning walk You wouldn’t want to meet. He lives up in the mountains, though, So people understand That animals like that will roam All over on that land. My son received a police alert A bobcat has been seen In his suburban neighborhood Where bobcats don’t convene. The warning said to check that your Garage door’s not ajar Or you may find a huge surprise When climbing in your car. It’s strange my son and brother In such different habitats Have been linked by sudden sightings Of these most unwelcome cats.

Nothing sounds as sorrowful as a female mountain lion in heat; their yearning can be heard for miles! My daughter's home also stands in the path of bobcats, who help keep the skunks away. Quiet neighbours are best! Aloha!

I’d love for cougars to go extinct, for encroaching on humans’ turf, together with tigers that kill hundreds in India every year.

That’s only what the evil propaganda says. But G-d gave Earth to humans. When animals overpopulate and interfere, they need to be killed. Big cats’ purpose is to control fauna so that those don’t suffer starvation. Where people hunt for food, big cats aren’t needed.

What a surprise! I thought humans were encroaching on feline turf!

Wow, this is really something...and a coincidence, too. Well-written, Ilene, as usual. I hope neither of them get tangled up with these dangerous cats!
