Become

The terms of initiation:
You must be just like all the rest;
In order to be accepted…
You must pass society's test.
Walk, talk and speak the same;
Following our example...
Conform to the standard,
And become another sample.

The right to live…
That belongs to you.
So why live in disguise,
Hiding from the truth?
Inside this plastic skin...
Exists your eternal soul;
Will you settle for an existence...
Living less than full?

How to become,
From what we became:
A life more than your own,
Living one and the same.
Is this your dream?
Or just your acceptance?
Of what has become of life;
Consumed by consequence
