Because of You

I told myself I wouldn't try it
but I was the first one signed up
I told myself I wouldn't like it
but I was the one crying when it was over
I told myself I hated you
but I was the one running into your arms at the end
I told myself I wouldn't keep coming back
but each year there I was
but each year was different
because you were only there for the first
You changed my life in unbelievable ways
I can't explain the realizations you helped my mind conjure up.
I told myself I wouldn't cry
but I can't help it because if it weren't for you
I wouldn't be who I am today.
Because of you, I am me.
