Because I Live Mr

"Tell me, what is it you plan to do
with your one wild and precious life?"
-Mary Oliver

Because I live, I have a life
I have a life to spend
My life is still just starting
While others start to end.
Because I live while others die
And those much more deserving
I will do my best cause any life
Is a life that’s worth preserving.
Because I live for just awhile
And there is so much to be done
I won’t get bogged down in “important”
I’ll try to have some fun.
Because I live how others can’t
I have freedom, I’m not hidden on a shelf
I must do what others can’t and always be myself.
Because I live, because I love
I’m destined to feel pain,
I won’t hide, it's all worth feeling
Surviving thunder to feel rain.
Because I live for years and years
And only for a moment
Boredom and diplomacy
Are living’s worst opponents.
Because I live in times of trouble
Because we all live in fear
I will do my best to stay and fight
And will fight for all my years.
Because I live while others died
And died so I could live
I will live to be alive
Not so some god can forgive.
