Beauty for Ashes

                                You gave beauty for ashes

When my fire was burning low

                               You gave beauty for ashes

When my light was an ebbing glow.

When my trust had turned to dust

I dropped my sword that edged toward rust,

But You gave beauty for ashes,

                                     And healing for pain

You gave faith for the doubting,

When my life was a fading mess

You gave peace in the windstorm.

                                    Blew my mind...

                           Peace; Through great distress.

In my cloud of fire and ice

You took it all, Your sacrifice.

                             You gave beauty for ashes,
,
                                  Refreshing as rain,

                            You give beauty for ashes,

                                  And lift me again.

Aw, thank you Victor. You always cheer me on and I always end up not being able to write....my muse has been a shadow of late! I will try. My husband is challenging me to write ten poem a day till new years, I am not up to the challenge. Just reading others poems and replying to comments on my poems is probably the best I can do for now. Maybe 2025 will be better, I so hope so. Pray the Lord helps me to rise above the ashes of these past couple years, please. You are a dear friend and I appreciate you.

Dear BJ, What a soul-stirring testament to resilience and the transformative power of grace. Your words capture the profound journey from despair to the renewal of the healing and restoration found in divine love. I loved how you conveyed a sense of gratitude and awe for the beauty born from trials through poetic imagery and heartfelt expressions. This is a beacon of hope, inspiring us to find strength in adversity and embrace the promise of new beginnings. - Blessings, Daniel

Thank you Karen. I am hoping a friend of mine can use it, She asked me to write her a song to use on her new album and I hope she will. If she does, I'll attach the video to the poem. She is a lovely singer :) I wish I could hold on to the beauty when I feel like the ashes, but, I suppose our faith is built up through the tough times and what doesn't kill me will make me stronger :D
