Another kind and generous compliment from you. Thank you for the encouragement. Indeed, this cinquain was inspired by van Gogh. You may know that he literally painted “Starry Night” from inside his asylum cell. Despite his challenges, he was able to focus on what was beautiful, and in this instance, he was able to see beyond the bars. It’s a beautiful life lesson. Best regards—MDJ
