Beatitudes Blessings and Commentaries Part Five
A: 10) We address the prime example of verbal persecution for righteousness sake in
the form of today's cancel culture. Once these people have been erased,
seldom are they they ever heard from ever again! However, in closed
countries to the gospel: physical persecution, torture/imprisonment, and
physical death!
Q: 10) What is meant by the phrase: "for theirs is the kingdom of heaven" in Matthew
5:10?
A: It simply means that they will inherit the kingdom of heaven! First they will
either be part of the dead in Christ, or they will be among those who are alive
and remain upon the earth during the rapture! It also means that they will be
citizens of the New Jerusalem! The New Jerusalem is the Godly earthly
capital of the New earth.
Q: 11) What does it mean in Mathew 5:11 by "blessed are ye, when men (or women)
shall revile you?"
A: When believers are reviled for the sake of the gospel for the kingdom of Jesus
Christ: it means to be verbally assaulted, verbally abused and verbally
slandered!
Q: What is meant by persecuting believers and saying all manner of evil against
them?
A: The topic was already addressed by me in the Q and in the A in the tenth
Beatitude. It is the exact same message but with different words.
Q: What is meant by "falsely for my sake?"
A: It means that false accusations are the polar opposite of true accusations!
We are reminded of how the religious leaders, in the days of Jesus Christ's
earthly ministry. Not only during His Passover trial but also during his entire
ministry would falsely accuse Him! All by making false and slanderous
accusations against Him because their father was the devil himself! He told
His earthly disciples that they also would be persecuted for his sake just as
they watched him being verbally assaulted and verbally attacked!
" Rejoice and be exceedingly glad: for great is your reward in heaven: for so persecuted they the prophets that were both you." Matthew 5:12. This verse sums up all of the eleven Beatitudes mentioned in the book of Mathew! Praise be our Lord Alleluia!
