Be True To God and Self
To be true to God and Self,
One must master a few important skills.
Know yourself
To know yourself, develop introspection.
Look inside yourself for likes and dislikes.
Recognize your abilities and limitations.
Accept yourself
To accept yourself, you must take the good with the bad.
Appreciate your talents and capabilities.
Admit your weaknesses.
Know God
To know God, you must study and ponder.
Read scriptures every day.
Ponder what you have read
Please God
Pray for understanding about his teachings.
Make right choices in all that you do.
Apply what you know about God’s will in your life.
Think
Think about how God’s words relate to your life.
Think about what brings you true happiness
Avoid being influenced by worldly ways and fads.
Overcome
Overcome the temptation to want to be like someone else.
Compare yourself at an earlier time to your personal improvements.
Avoid the temptation to justify your weaknesses…overcome!
Pray
Pray for understanding about how to use your talents for good.
Pray for strength to choose activities that are pleasing to God.
Pray for the ability to forgive yourself and others for mistakes.
Learn to Love
Show love with acts of kindness for self and others.
Speak and think kindly of everyone…including self.
You may not be perfect, but you can love God, striving for perfection.
