Be Thankful To Hear And See - Proverbs 20: 12
They are so simple little things
the very basics that make life real
just stop a moment and ponder
so be thankful next time you kneel
The hearing ear is not for everyone
some are born deaf, so can't hear
never take your hearing for granted
especially when yours is very clear
The seeing eye can be near and far
Various deficiencies affect each one
remember with thankfulness what you see
it's a gift to look at all you've done
But stop now and think of God
for it's the Lord alone who made both
this all-seeing and all-hearing creator
touched us there for our growth
Now consider those who are not so blessed
God's sovereign hand has evaded them
why? you ask, well, no one knows
only God knows, for He decides your stem
Remember every day all that's yours
so much to be ever thankful
whatever our loss, we've got gain
all our profit is our bright jewel
(The hearing ear and the seeing eye,
The Lord has made them both.)
