Be Free

Look up at the sky, Tell me what you see. Is there darkness upon the bay? Are there stars amongst its seas? For if you see the bay, As dark as it can be, The stars will then escape Until you can be free. Escape from life’s prison, For this isn’t your sentence. You only live once, Do not let it prevent us. It is how we interpret things, It causes the commotion, This toxicity of the mind, That creates this corrosion. I look up at the sky, And what do I see? Stars, not a pool, but the entire sea. Each twinkle is a whisper, That builds my self-esteem. It helps me keep my composure, For each star is a dream. They show me the way, For guidance is key, And as night turns to day, They teach me that I am free. So, my message to thee, Is engage in your dreams. The night skies are not, As dark as they seem. Engage and you will see, The stars in the sea. Even the nights will shine, And you can be free.
