Be a Friend To Someone

Be a friend to someone.
Don't walk life's path alone.
'Man is not an island.'
We cannot thrive on our own.
We need the company of others
To help ease a troubled brow.
Someone we can share with, or.
If we don't understand to show us how.
Someone that we can talk to
Who responds with a listening ear.
Who lifts us up when we're down,
Provides the cup that can cheer.
Someone we can also laugh with
To stop us taking life too seriously,
Who can help take us out of ourselves,
Touch the child within and set it free.
Someone we in turn can care about
So thoughts of self we rise above --
For friendships made as we travel life's road
Can lead the heart the way to LOVE.
