Battlefield
This is exactly what I mean, you're not as innocent as you proclaim
Even though the truth stares you in the face, you play the injured game
Right about now I've had enough if your crocodile tear
Right about now I don't actually want you near
Why the sudden rush, did you have a revelation
Please don't be angry when I deline your invitation
You seem to forget I've travelled down that road before
Perhaps you didn't see my white flag indicating I've left the war
It's a war I couldn't win and probably couldn't be won
So ill leave you to your fantasies, nothing more can be done
I'm not even sad or bothered, in fact I couldn't give a damn
As I'm way too old to be involved in another pathetic sham
Say what you like, say its my fault, that records on repeat
But I'm being honest to myself and I've finally admitted defeat
You strive on, you may even win the war, I'll applaud you if you do
But in winning this war make sure all your armies motives are true
Too many soldiers fight against when should be fighting together
To recruit and sign me up, I doubt that will happen ever
I'm a one man army, one man band, that's how I've come to be
Because when I needed you, well, you weren't there for me
So again here is ny white flag, its waving high in the air
For you all to see and know that I really don't care
Of what you think of me, as regardless to the truth or lie
The neglect you gave me I will carry and remember till I die
