Notes About The Poem

Hi Everyone!

I used parts of songs in this poem, bellow are the lyrics I used, and the name of the song and artist

Have a great day ??

These battle scars,
don't look like they're fading,
Don't look like they're ever going away,

- Battle Scars *Guy Sebastion, Lupe Fiasco*

Set fire to my purpose
And I let it burn

-Lose you to love me *Selena Gomez*

Make me feel stupid,
Try to fight it off but its useless

-stupid *Tate McRae*

Some things, they're
Solid, they're built to last
Some things, they fall
Apart, they break like glass

-If I died last night *Jessie Murph*

Whats worse?
Hearin' what you wanna hear
Or hearin' what's honest

-Sand *Dove Cameron*

Wakin' up knowin' I'm
Somebody's daughter, but
I don't know a lot about my father
Maybe that's the reason i don't do stuff like I ought to

-Pray *Jessie Murph*

You know I, I'm afraid of change
Guess that's why we stay the same

-July *Noah Cyrus*

I got nothing left, just an empty heart,
I'm a solider, wounded so
I must give up the fight
There's nothing more
For me, lead me away

-Sound the Bugle *Bryan Adams*

Battle Scars

These battle scars,
don't look like they're fading,
Don't look like they're ever going away,
But darling that's ok,
Because battle scars show how much you grow,
Grow through the highs and the lows

Set fire to my purpose
And I let it burn
Do you feel how your stomach does churn
the fear changes us all
at some point we all fall

Make me feel stupid,
Try to fight it off but its useless
How did I get into this mess
We all ask ourselves this
But the truth will never miss
Even if its painful

Some things, they're
Solid, they're built to last
Some things, they fall
Apart, they break like glass
Some days, all you want to do is say pass
But if you continue to grow and to learn
The thought of life, you will come to yearn

What's worse?
Hearin' what you wanna hear
Or hearin' what's honest
Pain like daggers from lies promised
darling rip those daggers out
Turn to the world and shout

Wakin' up knowin' I'm
Somebody's daughter, but
I don't know a lot about my father
Maybe that's the reason i don't do stuff like I ought to
No matter what we've learnt
we can build ourselves anew

You know I, I'm afraid of change
Guess that's why we stay the same
Most of us throw a rope around our horse to tame
the one wild part of us
The part that's not scared to make a fuss
We bury it down deep
And go along with the sheep

I got nothing left, just an empty heart,
I'm a solider, wounded so
I must give up the fight
There's nothing more
For me, lead me away
Stop don't beg me to stay
But wait there's a torch that leads you through the dark,
Even when the outcomes look stark

I've really been enjoying your story your characters and storytelling are fantastic. Honestly, I think it would work incredibly well as a manga or webtoon and could help you reach an even bigger audience. I'm a commission-based manga/webtoon artist, and I'd love to help bring your story to life if you're ever interested. Feel free to reach out at gm@il: [email protected] inst@ akiraa_artly

excellent!!! And, I totally get the contest directions now, this is going to be a fun time with creativity, love it. Hope you know some 70s rock. Kidding, I'm sure it's okay as long as I identify the lyrics as you did.
