Battle In the Mind

Darkness covers my soul,
My heart glows with light.
I seem to be lost in time,
My reasoning is failing me.

How does one keep his mind clean,
When all he sees is deception?
The truth is hidden in lies,
The reality is much like a dream.

I am trying to have a grip,
But my mind seems to be failing me.
It happens I do not want to be here,
But how do I leave when my time is not up?

I pray my soul will be healed,
I hope to get a grip.
I will try to calm my nerves,
But try is all I can do.
