Battle Cry

As all light went out
I stood shaded in Grey,
hopes wings were clipped
and this heart wont obey

Suspended in life
with the drowning of fear,
putting fire in my bones
brings a power to bear

Gluing the wings
on letters and words,
setting them free
to find new worlds

Sowing the plains
in peace and love,
laying them out
for angels above

If reaching for stars
my legs give way,
I’ll open my mind
and fly anyway

Spitting in the face
of what they say,
having nowhere to go
I wont go away

Being greedy in
the grasping of time,
it slipped through my fingers
to touch the divine

Illuminated love
reached out for me,
then gifted with eyes
I had futures to see

All Life goes on
and lights are snuffed out,
death hides in shadows
of that I’ve no doubt

Granules of love
I’ve secretly hid,
dwelling in mind
with forever I’ll live

A formidable foe
I have become,
with a fight to the death
My kingdom will come
