Battered Woman Syndrome

Births of children were both her pains and joys
After all, spouse was punching her like bag of toys  
Threats kept playing like rock music into her ears
Tiptoeing to gasp to be able swallow her fears and tears.  
Engulfing each hurt by every silent echoing scream
Restoring strength for her kids’ welfares and dreams
Enveloped by fathomless love glaring unconditionally
Dedicated herself to serve as bright light of her family.

Whining and wailing had no path to escape
Over the years of marriage, home was no longer safe
Maltreatment by him was like giving her meals for the day
Acceptance was the only solace saying, it’s my fate anyway 
No help needed, just her patience and endurance day by day.

Stiff smiles from her lips showed stability of strength 
Yelling inside drawing power with unending length
Nevertheless,her hope and dreams were her loving children
Devotion to motherhood with fervor hopes rose to heaven.
Reassuring herself that good karma comes after suffering
Ordeal continuously poured out with deeper wounding
Man remained oblivious keeping his vises and cruel beating 
Ended up to a woman’s ailment by trauma with hard healing.
