Basketball Of Poetry
Ball moving around
Aiming at the basket so round
Shots made, near or far
Keeper of the ball, holding a jar
Endless thoughts of poetry
Throwing the ball in words of artistry
Buzzer-beater you write and shoot
Assist and hoop in the circle of moot
Lay ups you turn or twist
Long shots you write, release or miss
Out of the many words you pen
Fumble or great, you drive underneath
the basket of wren
Poems from your mighty heart
On the freethrow-line you dash and impart
Entries of undying perspiration
Tokens of incessant inspiration
Reminiscences of your works of art
Your poetry in motion never depart
