Barabbas

Jailed for sedition and murder, soon to face the executioner. One worse than him was hard to find, compared to him who was so kind. Convinced that Christ the crowd would choose, Pilate was trapped by his own ruse. When the rabble chose Barabbas, what was he to do with Jesus? Crucify him, came the answer, release to us the prisoner. So, Christ was nailed upon a tree, and Barabbas was then set free. What cruel irony is this? A case of justice done amiss Christ died so Barabbas could live to us He wants, new life to give. Christ paid sin's price, absorbed the cost He died so we would not be lost. forsake the life of sin and strife Accept Christ's offer of new life.
