Baptism

Baptism It's time to live It's time to die Au revoir to every selfish lie And as the water washes clean The mossy stone My heart has been I feel renewed I sense the hope No longer blinded hands that grope In darkness Now the future's bright My soul has turned towards the light And as I drown To all the past The debris that my heart amassed As Christ within me All can see.. Becoming who I'm meant to be I know this symbol of the grave This resurrected life To save Is more than just The water's chill As life begins and lungs refill This is the Spirit Beyond my death The newness of my life's first breath. Thank you very much. This is a special poem for me (personally) but also having the privilege of baptising a very good friend in open water. It felt very biblical.

The most important soak in water you can ever have. Delivers a new life, DNA, but most of all the Holy Spirit that our Father in Heaven brings to us through his beloved son Jesus Christ. Enjoyed your inspiration.

Thank you so much Barb - I can't believe it took me so long to see your comment! I agree and having experienced from multiple sides, including a slight fear of crocodiles when I was dunked in Africa! Thank God for that new start.
