Ballad of Anger

With hatred In my heart

A good Insult in my brain

I'm so comfortable with anger

It's really hard to abstain

It knaws at my spirit

Controlling my very being

How it hurts me inside

Is what I'm not seeing

A true waste of time

And energy at that

People's feelings the ball

My vengeance the bat

What does this accomplish

At this time today

Because of these feelings

At some time I'll pay

With my frame of mind

And stillness of heart

Today I'll concentrate

And vow to make a start

To treat people better

As I'd have done to me

And one day my spirit

From anger will be free

I'm not sure if you intended this but the pace of this poem seems to accelerate as you read it. Real cool. This is a strong piece of work. No place to spend your life (anger, I mean). - Dean
