Badly Betrayed

From school and friends, kids have been barred
  Leaving them anxious, emotionally scarred

These kids, the teachers have badly betrayed
Staying out of their classrooms, but still getting paid

I agree Gershon. So many kids have missed so much. No telling what will happen to their studies now. Some have been home schooled. Good write. God Bless, JB

If we're really, really lucky, the Chicago Teacher's Union will collapse from internal rot and over-entitlement! You know, the high schools still don't have a plan worked out to return to the classroom -- 'coz of that #$%$#$ Teacher's Union, always putting themselves ahead of the kids!! ~ Fed up

Hi Gershon, I agree; they are making plans to reopen. But the school year is almost over:-) Alexis

All the cries to follow the science and when the science says it is safe to be in school ignore the science.

So true, Kenneth. It's ALL political these days, even the science itself! :) gw

How crazy is that! Nurses, doctors everyday alongside the truly sick and these sick situations where we pay people to show off their vacation while their students suffer. I don’t have the fortitude to take advantage of a situation like this. No shame! Yours is true poetry that speaks of today’s issues! God bless!

Ah! But online studies continue, for which teachers sweat and toil, incurring backache, eye strain and spondylitis ... COVID times are confining, no one has it easy, work from home is gruelling!

True for those who do and I respect them so. My grandson’s teacher had to also endure a son who has cancer (had part of a limb taken) while teaching him. God bless those who care for our kids! ...Kim
