Bad To Be Black?
You say you are not a racist
You say I'm black too
Yet you give the light-skinned the power
And the dark-skinned the boot
You call me stand up against injustice
"We have rights too"
I think, "Oh the irony "
Look at you
Has the early days of slavery made you think white is better
The light girl is our future
The dark girl, forget her
Whatever happened to the blacker the better
It must have got lost in the times
Or buried somewhere deep in our subconscious minds
So that is the way it is
What are you going to do?
I'll just be me and you be you.
