Bad Marriage

so whose heart is that
in your hand
you hold it high above your head
but you are
not squeezing yet
the heart blood is draining
down your arm
and you face is fierce with pain

have the courage
to destroy what is toxic
imprisioning you in a life of
toil and misery
devotion to one who mocks you
but is only to happy to
spend your dollars

have empathy
for this woman has gone as far as she will go
and is stepping now into madness
for without you she is as the witch
washed with water
a puddle of
regret.

Dear Veronica: WOW...what an explosive poem. This really cut to the bone. It must have been a sort of a cleansing for you, to be able to place upon paper, what was stored inside of you. Yours truly: Sheol
