Back To School

Bummer, dudes! Summer's almost done!
   We've only a few weeks left to have fun.
All these months went by so fast;
   How I wish summertime would last.
Crayons, pencils, notebooks, and more
   Are now on sale at the 99 cent store.
Kids will be disappointed when playtime ends,
   But at least they'll make old and new friends.
Teachers are prepared to lecture their classes
   While polishing their desks and cleaning their glasses.
Oh my goodness! Here we go again,
   As we hear the yearly refrain:
See you in September, y'all!
   We're in for a brand new semester this fall.
Come to order and take your seats:
   Pay close attention and you better not cheat!
Have your assignments finished on time:
   If you fail, it's detention for your behind.
Open your books and close your mouth!
   No talking allowed or you'll be thrown out.
Only thing I expect from each other
   Is to encourage and support one another.
Let's learn and grow, and you'll do great;
   Make all of us proud so you can graduate.
