Baby Steps

Like a building,
She stood tall.
Challenging the world,
Conquering all.
Growing with power.
Holding on tight,
She took a step,
On to her first flight.
Stumbling in shock,
But regaining balance.
She fights for her humanity,
Not afraid of a challenge.
That day will be remembered,
As the day she took hold,
Of a life so confusing,
But a girl so bold.
I love my baby sister,
And I know I’ll never forget,
The pride I took that day
When she took her first step.
