Baby Sister

Blood isn't thicker than water
Honestly, the blood is as thick as you make it
Or maybe it's no fault of your own
We make it thicker by loyalty and love
Backing those who need us most

One person's soul is tarnished
You allow them in your life because
Well, it's your parent and life is too short
Allowed a predator constant access to the prey
Prey who has zero protection

But then someone else close to you
Says some hurtful words
To you and to others you love
And you cut them out like they're nothing

But that's okay
Life's too short
Blood is as thick as you'd make it
Who will you stand loyal to?
