Baby Love

Tears trickled down my face
From the minute he was born,

I gave it everything I had
Out of breath, my body worn,

I couldn’t understand the pain
Of what I was about to gain,

To falter in and out of sleep
The drugs didn’t help they made me weak,

The early months had made me sick
Old remedies had done the trick,

And six months in my belly grew
Full of love I never knew,

By full semester it was time
To finally get this boy of mine,

It took some time, a push a shove
But now I know it’s Baby Love.

This is so sweet - brought back memories of when I gave birth to my two boys. Baby love is worth all the pain. Well done in penning this lovely piece of motherly love! Best regards. Pandita
