Baby

I come to you as a gift from above,

hoping to be surrounded by love.

I can not see when first I am born,

so I count on you for my safety and warmth.

Am I alone? I've cried so long...

Is there something that I've done wrong?

I kick my legs...I flail my arm's...

I try to use my other charms.

Pick me up and hold me near...

for a lack of attention is what I fear.

Wow....painful reading. I think I have held this baby recently and rescued him from the "wrong" that was being done. The unconditional love of a child....what a blessing and a gift, not to be taken lightly. This is a strange and sad world we live in sometimes. I treasure the hugs of our little one and smile that lights up the room and my heart.
