Awe
I miss the days,
Greener grass, a lighter cross to bear
Mind simple, times simpler
A state of awe and wonder,
Where did it go?
Did it fly away? Or did I forget?
Maybe it has hidden from me,
Maybe I have hidden from it,
The stories, the tales of past and future,
Feeling the courage of a million men,
The strength of half of one,
The innocence of it all,
How finite it was,
Pursuit of knowledge over life,
Knowing over living,
An innocent laugh,
Untainted mind,
In a world so new,
From a unknowing view.
