Away From the Strife

My imagination is full of so many things
It is as unexpected just like what life brings
No-one can give you the world we do not own it
When you really love some-one then you better show it
I have put change in the hat for the man on the corner
By the sound of his thanks I think he is a foreigner
Even donated clothes, toys and food for the poor
How can men call women names like **** or whore
Some will hit their ladies they get cut and bruised or more
If you were to see an argument or fight could you stay impartial
Or would you join in the fight or call the local martial
When it comes to people hurting I cannot stand aside
If you say no but it was seen I will say you lied
If you ever hurt someone I better not see it happen
I will jump from this stage and take a break from rappin
You should respect the ladies you come from in your mom
Unless your test tube babies or maybe just plain dumb
Have you ever hit your child…. I was beat in the basement
I felt like I was ugly and just like an embarrassment
I was raised by my mom most of my life
She kicked out my dad with the tip of her knife
He kicked and he beat her and more than I’ll say
He would kick me and beat me and say "get out of the way"
He was a bad man that feels no remorse
Oh yes he did it, he did it of course
We moved away to have a new life
A life away from all of the strife
