Awareness of Self

I exist there for I am
neurons fire 
a small electric charge 
down the cell to the synaptic gap

releasing a neuro transmitter 
that travels across that gap 
Neuro transmitters are chemicals 
perhaps our emotions 

perhaps our thoughts 
are the flow of energy 
through the brain 
I don't think 

awareness of self 
is the entire brain 
we don't think about heart rhythm
or regulating the pulse 

that is all done by our brain automatically 
awareness of self is a creation of the brain 
the spirit withing the machine 
different chambers for different emotions 

I think differently in anger 
than I do in happiness 
we are a combination 
of what we learn and 
what we think for ourselves 

Einstein was never taught 
the theories of relativity
his mind subconscious 
and awareness of self 

created that idea 
children can be taught to be honest
and still decide to steal 
we are a combination of what we learn
and what we think.   

we can drive ourselves in circles 
thinking to much 
we can create depression 
believing we are not good enough

we can create fear out of nothing 
and create nothing out of fear 
we can laugh drink and enjoy life 
or be to serious and destroy life 

we can laugh giggle and play 
invest grow and climb
study hard and learn
build careers or sit back and complain
