Awakening Groggy

Eyes half glued together with sleep,
Mind dragging on the floor behind my shuffling
Feet.   Coffee slowly percolating, seems
Like an eternity passes as the body
Struggles with awareness & potency.
Waiting for that hot tar fuel,
The folding together of cigarets & coffee.
The breaking apart of dreams.
That somehow like parasites devour any desire
To live in a concious reality;
Where everything is anything but dreamy.

I love your first line..."Eyes have glued together with sleep". What a descriptive image it renders. Great write. Dan C ps. If you don't have spell check, invest in a good dictionary. (Conscious) Sometimes it will make a difference in contests that are entered.
