Awakening

I spent my life
Waiting for the one moment
That last dance to end the night

The dimly lit room
Anticipation surrounding me
Wanting him to reciprocate my desire

The rush of emotions
Tied to an everlasting dream
Feeling my palms moisten with every heartbeat

But then my eyes open
The room bright with the light of truth
There will be no dance, for there will be no night
