Awakening

I cover my face to avoid daylight
Shining blindingly through the window shade.
For the wonderful dream I had tonight,
This morning awakening should be delayed.

How to extend the sleep and the bedtime
And not to let this illusion be lost,
But I should get up, once again, to climb
The highest peaks despite eternal frost.

That night dream may never return to me,
This morning I may have too much to lose,
Yet, I let the sun wake me up softly;
It gives me hope that I cannot refuse.
