Awaken To Yourself

Uttering Lamb full Of deceit Awaken to yourself Threatening defeat When do the winds Change and drift Why does the snake Bite so swift Speak your vomit upon A leper who seeks Your contempt and control Under deathly reek. Egregious errs turn Your dread Spoken words, spite In your stead; Countenance from Evils Follow at your heels Let not, see not Your darkened deals Propitious Devils lap your Fortune- Spent. Burned, gone Erroneous portion Despondent - adrift in A downcast sea Drowning in your own Objectivity. Honorable Mention in Paula Swanson's contest "Just Write Poetry" A. Green
