Awake, O Muse

awake, o muse, let’s once more fly the verdant valleys below the sky, let’s bathe eternal in love’s sweet rain and wash our wounds to dull the pain. awake, o muse, let’s once more sing the songs of yore that bubble like spring, let’s float along old melodious strains and gingerly gather blooms again. awake, o muse, let’s once more dwell above the clouds we knew so well; and resting there our thoughts abide, to live in peace and age defied.
