Awake My Son

Awake My Son

Good morning my son,
Open your eyes.
Awake the sandman,
As he lies.
The sun is shining,
The day is new.
It gladly waits,
For a boy like you.
No chance of rain,
A warm wind blows.
No sign of pollen,
To tickle your nose.
~
Go out and play,
Enjoy the sun.
Stretch the legs,
With a good run.
Throw a ball,
Fly a kite.
Ride a bike,
If that’s your delight.
You’ve waited all winter,
It couldn’t have come too fast.
A beautiful day,
Is here at last.
