Awake In Ashes
I lay awake in ashes
choking smoke, my lungs collapsing
Visions blurry, i feel im falling
fear of the end
Is this God calling?
Black days, cold nights
we're left to shiver
Waiting for hope
that no one delivers
Walking these streets
aligned with these fiends
Praying for something
that no one believes
Are we all trapped
in this circle of life
The blood that drips
from the edge of the knife
Yesterday's news
none of it matters
The truth stays forever
when everyone scatters
Blasphamous greed
hunger and poverty
The murders, rapes
violence, and sodomy
Life after death
better, it has to be
As we sit and wait
for our life's tragedy.
