Awake From a Long Sleep

People see me as this quiet little girl in this quiet little world but don't you know i'm
ready to explode with the world in my lap. I'm ready to take control and I know there's
no looking back. You can see what you want to see you can point out all my insecurities
you can do what you want just know i'm going be me. The real person who lies in side this
soul of mines, it's trapped no longer and I am going to fly like a butterfly. Spread my
wings I'm not afraid to sing, Everybody better listen to what I have to say because it's
important. No more ignoring . I promise to always be the same; I promise always to keep
my same name but I do have to make some changes and their only for the better. I have to
lose some of my burdens to let my shoulders relieve some of their sores. Ice some of
these bruises because i'm not crying anymore. I'm stronger and wiser and sometimes I lose
my temper but that's how I know I'm becoming whole again. I haven't been whole since
before I left childhood behind. I haven't seen myself in the mirror in a really long
time. It scares me to see that I am finally setting myself free, I just want to make sure
I don't get hurt again. My body is too old to mend. I am bringing down this shield hoping
that it's the last time I will have to protect myself. The last time I will have to worry
about my spirit getting hurt. Right now all I can say is that tomorrow is not promised...
it does scare me to not know what I should fear. But it's sort of exciting at the same
time I haven't been this awake since my birth a big slap on the tush for being too quiet.
I'm a chick coming from a egg the world is so new but so old like i'm seeing it for the
first time. I want to fly and be free bend my knees touch the seas of the world and let
the dreams rain on my soul like petals.
