Awaiting the Knock At the Door

Awaiting the Knock at the Door David J Walker We are gathered, But not together, in thought And prayer In anticipation of a knock a At the door That only One may hear Are you there, we constantly ask Slumped and head bowed His eyes slightly open And in a nod and a gasp the answer, yes But only for now, He whispers As he thumbs through 93 chapters of life We are gathered together Awaiting the phone to ring
