Autumn Leaves

I wonder just how long he tried
As he sat alone and cried.
She'd made a choice
He had no voice
The condo seemed so nice and new
As for the folks; a scattered few.
But after just a month passed by
He wondered when he'd start to cry.
In truth there were a lot of folks
Very old with tired jokes.
His real good friends were gone for good
He should have screamed just when he could.
Gone is work and gone is fun
His daughter moved
So did his son.
His wife keeps busy every day
And leaves him dinner in a tray.
For her the new life is a song.
Just what in hell did he do wrong?

Perhaps the answer is in the change of seasons. Chapters ending, perhaps, without reading between the lines. Nice work here!
