Autumn Leaf In the Pond

It falls gently to the earth From the tree above, The wind wisks it away But, carried by God's love. It finally comes to rest In a lightly rippling pond, The leaf went through many changes Now, the leaf and water bond. The pond gently cradles it This fragile little leaf, Rocks it back and forth And finally, puts it to sleep. Copyright Cynthia Jones Oct.8/2006
