Autumn Leaf

             ~
           ~~~
        ~ ~~~~
      resplendent
    in russet gold,
   a little leaf glows
  against the grey ~
  flamboyant in fall’s
  grandiose  finale ~
 its  radiance rivals
   the sun’s retreat.
           ~~~

Dear JCB, the beauty of your "autumn leaf" poem is revealed in both imagery and shape. Your last two lines are an exquisite finale to a delicate piece. I love leaves in the fall, my favorite season. Warmest wishes, my sweet poet friend.. ~Susan

Occasionally, I am drawn to pick up a leaf. Started when I found a lone red leaf in a civil war park amidst the other colorless leaves. What meaning will be revealed or what memory is evoked… Hugs
