Autumn

The leaves are starting to fall
As out in the fields I look.
I try more intensely to not stall
On the morning hike that I took.

The breeze is refreshingly cool,
The colors are wondrously fair.
Meanwhile down at the school
Children try their attention to repair.

There’s football in the minds
Of folks both young and old.
Will they awake to find
A message of victory to be told?

I stop momentarily to reflect
On the beauty everywhere.
I quickly my camera inspect
So I can with others share.

It’s a glorious time of the year,
It should bring to all much joy.
If any would care to hear,
It does to this country boy!!

Nice poem. Somehow I seem to have missed autumn this year. Apparently we've gone straight from summer to winter!
