Notes About The Poem

Today in Australia we celebrate Australia Day 26/1/2026 (Australian Time)

A day of great pride and celebrations for everyone who chooses to make Australia home

Happy Australia Day

Australia Day

Australia Day 26/1/2026

I’ll fly my Aussie flag today
and celebrate ‘Australia Day.’
Be not afraid to let you know
I’m proud to put myself on show!

I think it’s time for all to stand
together, right across our land.
Because Australia girt by sea
is really the best place to be.

A Multicultural country superstar
have welcomed many from afar.
Who’ve stayed, to make Australia home
without restrictions, free to roam.

There’s been a shift in national pride
the date Australia day, some hide.
But history we cannot change
no matter how we rearrange.

We’ve much to be so thankful for
our way of life, and so much more.
We’re all Australians black or white
when with each other, we unite.

So, get together, grab a beer.
say ‘G’day mate, I’m glad you’re here’.
Light BBQ’s, eat salad mix
On January Twenty-Six.
