Augmented

My days go by,
And I wonder why
All I can see
Has no meaning to me.

My life goes on,
Ev'ry dusk and dawn
Continue to
Keep ev'rything I knew.

With this great loss
I move 'bout like moss.
Without my mind,
I'm not of humankind.

You all can think,
I only can blink.
Unfortunate,
This is the end of it.

I want to be.
I want to be free.
Leave my prison.
Escape this pit I'm in.

I start to climb.
The walls are high.
I run out of time.
I desire the sky.

How hard going it is,
Climbing up this.
I slip and slide;
I can say I tried.

Once again I
Decide to try.
I rally my strengths
While my arms feel like planks.

The climb I make,
My whole life I take.
Now near the sun,
My task is now done.
